It’s finally Spring!!!! Except for the fact that it might have only snowed two days ago . . . either way, I am going to ignore that and pretend I am in spring bliss by sharing some of my favorite trends for Spring 2017 that I guarantee you will see everywhere!
Sunday brunch is the one day of the week where everyone brings out their fashion A-game, so I decided to try some spring fashion looks for my favorite meal of the week and pretend that the weather was above 45. Denim has always been a classic for any season but what makes it a spring trend for this year is layering denim right on top of each other—Denim on Denim. When I first saw this trend I was actually terrified of it. I did not think that contrasting denim shades would be flattering on top of each other, and I also did not believe I had any shades that would contrast well enough. But I sucked it up and pulled out my favorite Tommy jean jacket and Levi’s denim shirt without even looking in the mirror, hoped for the best, and walked out the door. The great thing about this trend is anyone can make this look work with any denim you have in your closet right now, I promise! And if you are really feeling the denim trend: jeans, a denim shirt, and a jean jacket (yes, all at the same time) never hurt anybody!
But of course, accessories make the outfit so with my favorite pair of Ray Bans and suede booties I decided to add a spring trend that has been huge so far this season. Bandanas. Yup, I bet your younger self is either really excited about these things coming back or wishing they stayed right there where they came from. But what old is new again, and so are these bad boys! I bought a bandana from Madewell on sale ($10!) to see if I could really commit to this trend. I’ve come to the conclusion that I am a fan. I decided to tie my beige and white bandana around my neck to make my denim look a little less classic. But I have seen people use them as headbands, tie them to their bags, and even around their wrists. Bandanas are now fair game and with all of the fabrics and colors they come in, this simple piece of fabric can be an outfit game changer. And what makes them so 2017 really is the way you tie it, so get creative! I will definitely be buying more of them.
So are you going to be rocking the Bandana trend anytime soon? How do you feel about denim on denim? What are your favorite spring trends for 2017?
